I didn't do that. I did it manually by grabbing the image off of sony's website. it even has my first and last name underneath it, but it's a made up one. I used this tutorial: https://q-bec.com/threads/get-you...-and-name-on-an-offline-activated-ps4.571231/

some things need to be changed in that tutorial, but use your own version.json:

I had no avatar before this. the only file in that profile folder, which I renamed for that image, was the version.json.

it also survives a restart, so no hen is needed beyond ftp. my system actually kernel paniced when I initiated hen the first time or else it would've taken even less time.

Seems the PS4 PKG Tool can't detect backport pkgs, isn't it?
And if someone use the batch rename option, there isn't an easy way to differ if it's the backport pkg or not!?

@KiiWii Are you in contact with pearlxcore? Would be great if the awesome PS4 PKG Tool gets a backport detection ;)
In case that is possible? Idk.

you can usually tell a backport by the app version. the app version is always increased by one, so if it's just the base pkg of 1.00, the patch will be 1.01.

I’ve never actually examined a backport, so I’m unsure. I think I back ported 1-2 games back when 6.72 was a thing, and incremented the version by one as @godreborn said.

I can contact Pearlxcore but technically the back ports should be undetectable by the nature of the way they’re made.

yes, there's probably no technical way to tell aside from looking in the eboot or modules, but those should look just like a 5.05 game anyway. I personally tested every backport with my games. all worked 'til at least the title screen. I didn't test beyond that. I guess the only way is to know which firmware the game is for, then seeing if it works on 5.05. that might be the only way.

I think maybe date compare two files within the pkg. original creation date should be the date it was manufactured.... unless it’s stamped when it’s dumped.... argh idk. I would have to look into it.

I used the PKG Tool and opened up a folder with backports, also with a few backport fixes in there.
PKG Tool tells they are all 7.02. While the BP fixes are all 1.01, some patches like Nioh 2 was 1.08, I think.
That is a real mess if you got a whole harddrive of them :P
Need to seperate them folder wise...

Maybe give Pearlxcore a message if you've got some time. Would be great :)

Patches also go up one app version. You just need to know which patch it was originally.

@susi91 , like I mentioned, you can tell in the param.sfo in the ascii field which is basically the right hand side (text field).

ps4 pkg viewer may be able to tell you this by just loading the pkg (without decrypting anything), but with both that and orbis-pub-chk, you can have it extract just that one file. I think orbis-pub-chk will tell you about the pkg as well.
